Welcome to the website for Digswell Nurseries, a community-based project in Welwyn Garden City. The organisation falls under the umbrella of Saint John of God Hospitaller Services, a worldwide charity providing health and social care to many people in fifty countries across all five continents.
Digswell Nurseries provide training and support for a wide range of vulnerable adults from the local community, and also other groups such as work experience students and the long-term unemployed.
The Nurseries are also a horticultural hive of activity, growing a huge amount of bedding shrubs and perennials for sale to the public as well as growing in excess of 150,000 bedding plants annually for local authorities.
As well as this, the Nurseries boast a small (but perfectly formed) Flowerpot Coffee Shop, run in conjunction with local volunteer groups, which is open throughout the week serving hot and cold drinks, confectionery and ice creams.
