Digswell Nursery is the perfect destination whether you are looking for some bedding to brighten up your garden, or for herbaceous perennials or shrubs to form the back bone of your planting schemes. Furthermore, we stock a range of ready planted containers and hanging baskets, and should we be out of stock, we are happy to plant to order.

In season, herbs, alpines and vegetable plants are stocked – why pay extortionate prices at the supermarkets when you can grow your own?

Plants need not stop at the front door. Why not come and browse our wide range of indoor and conservatory plants, ideal to brighten up your home. From flowering pot plants to larger specimens, Digswell has it all.

Digswell Nursery may be small but can compete with the larger garden centres. It not only offers competitively priced plants but a wealth of expertise on horticulture on site. If you have a question about plants, just ask!

Digswell Nursery is a small nursery located to the west of Welwyn Garden City, owned by Saint John of God Care Services. Welwyn Hatfield Council previously owned the site until 1995, although the staff and students still grow summer and winter bedding plants under contract, allowing the work of the Nursery to be seen within the local community. Digswell Nursery is also open to the general public, and is well stocked throughout the year with a wide range of indoor and outdoor plants, hanging baskets, containers and a range of garden sundries.

Digswell Nursery forms a chief part of the Leisure, Education and Occupational Services (LEOS) sector of St John of God Care Services in Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield. It offers a supportive work and training environment for vulnerable adults, including those with physical and learning disabilities, mental health problems, long term unemployed, ex-offenders and those who have suffered brain injuries

Saint John of God Hospitaller Services is a charity that provides a wide range of health, social care and pastoral services that support in excess of 1000 people in over 45 projects throughout Great Britain. Through its core values, the charity aims to provide services that meet the individual needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged adults, promoting their independence, and helping them to make a difference to the way they live.

Digswell Nursery stock a large range of Christmas trees in season, from more traditional types of trees to the more contemporary Nordmann non-drop trees in a wide range of sizes, and all locally sourced.

Why not add the finishing touches to your home decoration with a holly wreath, planted arrangement (perfect for that last minute gift!) or even one of our famous homegrown poinsettias, all in a wide range of colours and sizes, of good quality and guaranteed to last throughout the festive season!
