Pergola
One of our new developments is the construction of a pergola with integrated seats, which leads to all areas of the garden. It was not built in our usual way! Instead it was the task for a new project that we are piloting in staff training. The building was constructed by a group of thirty service managers, deputies, and seniors across the region as part of their management training programme.
A very practical exercise in problem solving, strategic planning, team building, time-management and at times negotiation skills. Over the course of two days in the desperate wind, rain and cold conditions, three groups worked to dig holes, erect and cement the posts, build the roof and construct seats to complete their amazing task.
