There is never a dull moment at Digswell Nurseries, and throughout the year it always has something to offer.
Spring..
The energy of spring in February and March brings a huge range pansies, cyclamen, primroses and other early bedding plants as well as large number of herbaceous perennials and shrubs.
Moving through these plants make way for the extravaganza that is the massive amount of summer plants that are grown at Digswell Nurseries, available between April and June, where we also open at weekends between 10am and 5pm. These include marigolds, bizzie lizzies, begonias and the full range of garden bedding. Also a full range of trailing basket plants: geraniums, non-stop begonias and other feature bedding plants for your garden, as well as the usual herbaceous and shrubby plants.
Summer..
During this time a range of vegetable plants are grown, including all the favourite varieties and occasionally some things out of the ordinary! Perfect to beat the credit crunch and great to grow your own!
Autumn..
As summer comes to a close, winter bedding plants and a fresh range of herbaceous perennials are grown, including pansies, bellis, cyclamen, primroses, polyanthus and many more. During October, Digswell Nurseries are also open on Saturdays between 10am and 4pm, so take advantage of the shortening autumn days and get into the garden!
Winter..
December brings with it colder weather, but always bear us in mind at Christmas, for Digswell Nurseries becomes a miniature Winter Wonderland, with a good range of non-drop and traditional Christmas trees (all locally sourced), holly wreathes, indoor plants arrangements, poinsettia and cyclamen – all perfect for brightening up the Christmas table, or for that last minute gift idea!
So whatever the weather, there is always something to offer at Digswell Nurseries. Bypass the hustle and bustle of the larger chains and garden centres, and come and soak up the ambience and take advantage of the very reasonable prices!
Retail prices
All of the plants offered for sale at Digswell Nurseries are grown on site, with the exception of the shrubs, which are locally sourced due to the long period between their propagation and sale.
As everything is grown on site by the dedicated and hardworking team of staff and students, our prices are kept. Here at Digswell, we also try to do our bit for the environment by reusing plastics where possible, and using chemicals only if absolutely necessary.
